Who We Are

We are a team of educators, engineers, parents, and students (at one point!), building a platform to augment the support we give teachers every single day—bringing our systems into the 21st century.

Why We Exist

Unlocking Real Insights, Not Just Data

Granularity Matters

The tools available today often skim the surface. While they can tell us that many students are struggling with a particular standard, they don’t dig into why. What about that standard caused the struggle? Most data integrations focus on the basics—things like SIS data and assessments. But these alone can’t tell the whole story. At Strived, we aim to dig deeper, offering insights that reveal the ‘why’ behind
the numbers.

Efficacy Woes

It’s tough to measure how well a tool works when schools aren’t using it as intended. Many edtech tools require specific usage conditions to show their true impact, like hitting a certain number of hours or completing a set portion of the curriculum. But if those conditions aren’t met, it’s hard to know if the tool is really helping. That said, if we combine the usage on these tools – no matter how much – with other data of things happening in the classroom with assessments, or exit tickets, or even
group work, we can get a much
clearer picture if things are
“working” or not as a whole.

Guarding the Data

Data transparency is a big issue. We’ve seen companies hold back data when it doesn’t fit their narrative. That’s why Strived exists—to provide objective, transparent data that school leaders can trust. We know that data is a tool for improvement, not just for reporting.

Our Approach

At Strived, we take a layered approach to data,
with each level offering a unique, actionable perspective:

Satellite Data

This is the big-picture stuff—test scores, attendance, and graduation rates. It highlights overall performance trends and can point to underserved student groups that need extra support.

Map Data

This level brings us closer to understanding specific learning trends and gaps. Think Lexile levels from running records, rubric scores on common assessments, and even feedback from schoolwide surveys. It gives a clearer view of how students are progressing.

Context-Based Data

At Strived, we believe context matters. This means looking at the frameworks a district uses, the scope and sequence models they follow, or even curriculum exemplars. We provide insights that reflect the unique environment of each district, helping educators make decisions that are tailored to their specific needs.
